When people hear the term "cash-based therapy," they often assume it means we only accept cash and that insurance won’t help cover any of the cost. But that’s not entirely true! At The Pannell Project, we do things differently to give you the highest quality care without the red tape of insurance restrictions—and yes, we accept card and checks too!
What is Cash-Based Therapy?
Cash-based therapy means that we operate independently of insurance contracts. Instead of dealing with insurance companies dictating what treatments you can or can’t receive, we offer therapy based on your individual needs. This model allows us to focus entirely on your recovery, performance, and long-term wellness without unnecessary limitations.
What is a Superbill, and How Can You Get Reimbursed?
A superbill is a detailed receipt of the services you receive at The Pannell Project. It includes important information like treatment codes, dates of service, and provider details that you can submit to your insurance for potential reimbursement. While we don’t bill insurance directly, many insurance plans will reimburse you for a portion of your therapy costs if you submit a superbill.
Here’s how it works:
Receive Treatment – Come in for your therapy session and focus on getting better.
Get a Superbill – We’ll provide you with a superbill after your visit.
Submit to Insurance – You send the superbill to your insurance provider.
Receive Reimbursement – Depending on your plan, you may get reimbursed for a portion of your treatment.
We always recommend checking with your insurance provider to see how much they cover for out-of-network services.
Why Cash-Based Therapy is Affordable
Some people assume cash-based therapy is expensive, but in reality, it can save you money in the long run! Here’s how:
No Hidden Fees: Insurance-based clinics often have surprise bills months after treatment. With cash-based therapy, you know exactly what you’re paying upfront.
Fewer Sessions Needed: Because we tailor treatments to you (not what insurance allows), many patients see faster results in fewer visits, ultimately spending less over time.
More Personalized Care: You get one-on-one attention, better outcomes, and no rushed appointments dictated by insurance quotas.
